Manual therapy contributes or helps to resolve the symptom, in a complementary way. In fact, many times, it enhances the effect of the main treatment in a multimodal synergy.
Through massage or joint mobilization techniques, we generate responses in our central nervous system and immune system. We activate the body’s own systems to positively modulate pain, generating a perception of more tolerance, more well-being, more confidence and therefore less fear, anxiety, disability and pain
Manual therapy has to be affective, reassuring, empathic and educational, to reduce the patient’s contextual uncertainty. It will always be carried out based on clinical reasoning and a previous physical examination.
This may represent a window of opportunity to lead the patient towards active coping, more self-efficacy through, for example, greater adherence to exercise and participation in functional activity.
With manual therapy we achieve a better range of mobility, reduce pain and fatigue, generating a reward and satisfaction for the patient
TECARTHERAPY / DIATERMY (WINBACK)
TECAR (Capacitive and Resistive Energy Transfer) is a high-frequency alternating current that causes a flow of ions through rapid electrical oscillations in the cellular environment. This increases the intra- and extracellular exchange of the tissue. By increasing the permeability of the membrane and biostimulating the tissue, we achieve:
– Eliminate pain: inhibit pain messengers
– Restore movement: the increase in temperature helps to relax muscle tension and improves vascularization to facilitate movement, gaining freedom and range of motion.
– Stimulate metabolism: improves the vascular and lymphatic system.
Rehabilitation is 2x faster. It is not invasive and is comfortable for patients. We get a feeling of warmth and immediate pain relief that makes the session enjoyable
